Keelings First Harvest Irish Strawberries Just In Time For St. Patrick’s Day

By March 13, 2015 No Comments

Friday 13th March, Keelings are delighted to celebrate their first harvest of Irish strawberries. We spent 4 years testing the variety and growing system. This allows us to start 3 weeks earlier with beautiful Irish strawberries, ready to enjoy just in time for St. Patricks’ weekend.

Speaking from Keelings strawberry glasshouse, David Keeling said, “Keelings have become synonymous with Irish Strawberries. We’re delighted to be the first Irish growers bringing homegrown strawberries to stores this week. As they were such a hit last year, this season we have increased the volume of our exclusive early Spring variety. The strawberries taste and look fantastic, exactly what you’d expect from Keelings First Harvest Irish Strawberries”.

To ensure Keelings’ Irish strawberries reach their customers in the best possible condition Keelings ensure that once harvested they are stored in carefully controlled atmospheric and chilled conditions. The quality in the cold- stores is constantly monitored by quality controllers and samples of strawberries are regularly tested to ensure that no problems have developed. This process ensures the strawberries are delivered in the best condition possible.

Keelings Irish strawberries will be available in store from Saturday 14th March.
